Pictures of the Hot Air Balloons 2012 in Lake Chapala

A popular event in Lake Chapala is the Hot Air Balloon show, also known as the Regatta de Globos. It is held by the soccer field in Ajijic, down the same street the Wednesday market is located on. This event is held just before the Independence day celebration in Mexico. The balloons are made by local residents and sponsored by many local businesses and social groups. Food stands are set up where you can get hamburgers and hots dogs to enjoy the event and watch the balloons take flight. Read our blog post on the Regatta here
