Pictures Regatta de Globos (Hot Air Balloons) in Ajijic 2014

The annual Regatta de Globos (Hot Air Balloons) event took place this year with a larger crowd than last year, it is always held on the Saturday before Mexican Independence Day. This local event attracts more and more visitors every year, which makes this tradition one of the most popular in Lake Chapala. Although it was a rainy day in Ajijic during the entire event, that did not stop all the teams from setting up at 3pm getting ready to launch there balloons into the sky. Their were rumors of the possible cancellation of the event or for it to be postponed, since the constant rain made it difficult for the teams to work. The event took place on time and in the rain and last until 9:30pm when some of the last balloons were launched, including the Access Lake Chapala balloon which was made thanks to the great team at “Si Lupita”.
