Day of the Dead Celebrations Ajijic 2018

A national holiday for honoring and remembering our passed loved ones is one of Lake Chapala’s most beautiful events. Business’s and even Banks close to allow everyone to visit the local cemetery to celebrate their passed loved ones or go to the Plaza to make an altar honoring their family members who are no longer with us. Once night falls the “Day of the dead Wall” gets lit up by Efren Gonzalez, local artist who created this master piece. This year Access Lake Chapala made an altar for a young man in Ajijic who passed away in 2018, you can see our altar and all others below.
